Meet the Officers

President
Dominique Sampson
Hi there! I’m Dominique Broussard and I’m obsessed with all things related to Administration. I’m a native Houstonian and LSC-Houston North’s second elected PSSA President that will serve during AY 23-25. I was recently promoted to Coordinator, II with LSC-Houston North after receiving my BBA from University of Houston-Downtown. Now, my time is committed to reports, coordinating events, and managing projects amongst the executive team including sustaining relationships with external constituents. I received an Associate of Science from LSC and am proud to call myself a first-generation college graduate and LSC alumna. Everywhere I go, LSC is regarded as a respected institution that paves the way for Houstonians and surrounding community members to reach their fullest potential. I’m always happy to connect with like-minded administrative professionals.

Secretary
Denisse Flores
My name is Denisse Flores. I was born in Manhasset, New York but lived in Houston, Texas majority of my life. I am the oldest, with just a little brother by my side, always keeping me busy as his unofficial parent. I am a first-generation college graduate from Lone Star College- North Harris. I am working on my bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston-Downtown.

I started working for Lone Star College as a work-study in March 2018, then the pandemic hit, and I took a break. I began a new journey in September 2020 as a Full-time Specialist III in Admissions and Records. I was quickly introduced to the roles of Graduation as a Lone Star College- Houston North Graduation Specialist. Since then, I have learned and grown so much that I am now the Houston North Graduation Coordinator.

I have enjoyed helping students start their college journey by helping them grow in whatever they are trying to achieve while performing my role as a Specialist for Admissions and Records. While learning graduation processes and procedures, I have grown to enjoy the knowledge of the process and seeing students complete a degree with Houston North, trying to connect with students and making their beginning joyful. Now, as the Graduation Coordinator, I will see and engage more with students completing their journey with Lone Star College-Houston North. Watching students walk across the stage with their caps and gowns, and their families in the stands is a great feeling, knowing I’m doing my job for them.

 Treasurer
Justin Owen
I started part-time in the Testing Center in 2017 as a Test Proctor. In 2018, I moved into the Admissions & Records Department full-time working with transcripts, residency, and appeals. In 2022, I moved into the role of an Advisor helping students determine course requirements, programs, and help plan for transferring to a four-year university. Some personal things about me are that I am an enthusiast gamer and I have studied abroad in Japan for two semesters in 2009 and 2010.

Training and Activities Coordinator
Ivan Ramirez
Ivan is an Outreach and Recruitment Specialist at LSC-Houston North Fairbanks. He is originally from New York City but has lived in Houston for most of his life. He obtained his Associate of Arts from LSC-University Park before transferring to the University of Houston and earning his BBA in Supply Chain Management. His goal as a recruiter is to see the students pursue their educational goals at Lone Star College so that they are best prepared to enter the workforce. Ivan enjoys recruitment because he can give back to students a sense of belonging and opportunity that he also had at Lone Star College. During his free time, he enjoys traveling, outdoor recreational sports, and spending time with family and friends.
