Lone Star College is committed to ensuring students, employees and visitors with disabilities have equal access to LSC programs, services, and activities. It is important for LSC students to know how to request accommodations and who to talk to. See the information below for new and returning students.
Commonly Requested College Accommodations
1. Self-Identify.
Contact the LSC Disability Services Office where you are taking classes and self-identify as a student with a disability. Visit Campus Disability Services Offices.
2. Request accommodations online through VSAC.
The LSC Virtual Student Accommodation Center (VSAC) is the Lone Star College cloud-based software hosting a secure location that will process and hold disability services requests and records for students with disabilities at all LSC campuses.
3. Provide documentation.
Students are responsible for providing documentation of disability. Because K-12 and Higher Education laws differ, it is important to note that K-12 documentation may not fully satisfy LSC documentation requirements. To download Verification Form or to review Document Guidance or for other Disability Services, see Additional Resources.
4. Actively engage.
You matter! LSC expects students to actively participate in all discussions and decision-making about your accommodations. Stay engaged!
Lone Star College Policy states that students must identify themselves each semester as individuals requesting accommodation based on a qualifying disability.
This is because the type of class (e.g., online, lecture) and the subject (e.g., Math, Art) are just a few items considered when developing accommodations.
Once accommodation eligibilities are approved, LSC students log in to the Virtual Student Accommodation Center (VSAC) to select which eligibilities they will apply to each class.
Log in to VSAC and renew accommodation requests today.
About Employee Accommodations
Accessibility Services and Resources processes requests submitted for reasonable accommodations to qualified College employees. These requests are protected by various laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
If you would like to request an accommodation, please email LSC-EmployeeAccommodations@LoneStar.edu to begin the process.
Policies and Procedures
Board Policy Section IV.E.3 outlines the Employees with Disability Rights.
Procedures and forms that align with this policy can be found here.
Board Policy controls when a conflict arises between it and the procedures. These procedures were updated and put into effect April 11, 2025. The notice and comment period was open online to the public from March 19, 2025 to April 1, 2025.
