Bio
Myriam Saldívar has served on the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees, District 6, since 2016. A proud Aldine native and graduate of Aldine Senior High School, she began her higher education at Lone Star College–Tomball before earning a degree in International Studies with a minor in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas.
Her career in public service includes work with the Texas House of Representatives, where she focuses on drafting legislation to advance healthcare, education, and public safety. She also served Harris County through community outreach initiatives designed to strengthen relationships across the county, ensuring residents and organizations are informed, engaged, and connected to resources. With more than a decade of community leadership, Myriam is deeply committed to expanding opportunities through education, equity, and access to resources.
She has served on the Board of the Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA, as Board Chair of Vecino Health Center—providing critical healthcare for underserved communities—and as a member of the Hispanic Advisory Committee for the Houston Independent School District, supporting initiatives for at-risk students.
Outside of her professional and civic work, Myriam enjoys traveling, hiking, jogging, and spending time outdoors.
