Bio

Mike Sullivan is a proud product of Lone Star College-Kingwood, where he received his Associate of Arts degree at the age of 54. He then went on to the University of Houston-Downtown, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in International Politics, at the age of 57.

Sullivan previously served on Humble ISD Board of Trustees, Houston City Council, and as Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector.  He was elected to the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees in 2018, and ran unopposed for reelection in 2024.  Sullivan has served as Assistant Board Secretary, Board Secretary, and currently serves as Board Chair.  He has chaired the Finance and Audit Committee since first being elected.  

Sullivan has a long history of community service.  He is a director of The 100 Club of Houston, Camp Allen, Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, an Advisor to the Houston Police Officers’ Union, and member of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands CEO Advisory Committee.  

He also serves on the Vestry of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in The Heights, and continues to serve on the Harris Central Appraisal District Board of Directors, where he previously was Board Chair.   

Sullivan is Founder and Principal, Texas Governmental Affairs, LLC, a full service governmental and public affairs firm with offices in Austin and Houston, Texas.  

Kim and Mike were married in 1983.  They own a rescue dog (found in a ditch one night), and cat (adopted from a local animal shelter).  Their daughter, Paige, graduated from Baylor University in 2015.
