Facilities & Construction
Under the direction of Robert Barrera, Associate Vice Chancellor, the Facilities & Constructoin Department serves as the liaison between all LSC campuses and centers on all aspects of facilities, maintenance, management, planning and construction projects. This office develops guidelines for renovation and modifications of existing facilities and represents the district during property acquisition, capital construction projects, and related issues. This office is also responsible for the property management of the System Office Training Center, property leases, and utility-related issues.
Voters went to the polls on Nov. 4, 2014 and approved the $485 million bond referendum for Lone Star College, which will be used to create more learning space to accommodate the extraordinary growth being experienced in the LSC service area.
The Training Center is a 13,000 square foot conference center available to the district and community for educational and professional development classes and meetings. The state-of-the-art technology, user-friendly conference rooms and meeting services create an outstanding environment for small to mid-size groups. The Training Center rooms are equipped with state of the art multimedia data projectors mounted in the ceiling, and power and data ports. We offer video/teleconferencing and video/audio taping. The center is equipped with wireless internet throughout. Room capacities range from 15 to 125; room setup styles will vary those numbers.
