"Zero to Sixty" Accelerate to Graduate

Destination: Student Success!

Research suggests the more credit hours community college students take, the more likely they are to succeed in those classes. Specific data from Lone Star College-Montgomery shows that students taking at least 15 credit hours a semester, not only graduate in two years, but also have a higher GPA!

Students who do not graduate or transfer from a community college in two years can become unmotivated, because it does not seem like they are making progress. But there is a solution! Rev your education engines! Use all that is available to you at LSC-Montgomery: take classes that fit your schedule, register for online classes where you can do your work at home, complete a mini-mester, find late start classes, or plan night classes to boost the number of credits you take. Advisors are there for you as part of your pit crew, meet with them and listen to their advice! Discuss the track that you are on and talk about feasible ideas to get to at least 15 credit hours a semester. Advisors want you to succeed and complete your degree or transfer in two years. They can talk to you about financial aid and if you qualify, taking 15 credit hours will not even cost you anything extra!
