Students enrolled for at least 6 semester credit hours with a GPA of a 2.0 or higher can take advantage of checking out a laptop through our Lone Star College Office of Technology Services (OTS).

Student Success Resources

  • Taking Notes - As a college student, it is important that you take notes effectively.  Watch this short Wellcast Video to learn how to take notes.  You can view the worksheet that goes with the video here.  
  • Videos for Student Success - There are several videos that can help you on this educational journey.  Wellcast has a playlist of videos titled "Ultimate School Survival Guide."  Learn about World History, Biology, Philosophy, Study Skills and more with the Crash Course channel on YouTube.  
  • Student Success Resources - As a dual credit student, you are an LSC-Tomball student. As a Timberwolf, you have access to a number of resources. This handout will introduce you to the many resources available to you.
  • Studying for Your College Classes - Whether you are preparing for a quiz or a major exam, it is important that you study for your college classes.  Every week, you should study at least 2 hours for every credit hour that you are taking. Studying is not just reading and annotating your textbook.  There are several interactive things that you can do to help you learn and master the content in your classes. This handout provides you with just a few ways that you can have effective study time for all of your dual credit courses!
  • Adobe Spark Job Aid - Are you tired of using PowerPoint for your presentations and projects?  If so, try create an Adobe Spark Video. This free video story-telling tools allows you to create engaging presentations with pictures, audio, narrative, and more.  This job aid will take you through how to set up an account and how to create your first Adobe Spark Video!
