Commencement Ceremony Details

Come join your fellow Coyote graduates at Commencement! Commencement is a graduation ceremony for graduates, their families, faculty, and staff. It's a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students. Order your cap & gown and get ready to walk across the stage!

The 2026 LSC-Kingwood Commencement ceremony will be held on:

* Please note all graduates and guests will pass through a metal detector and a clear bag policy is strictly enforced at M.O. Campbell Educational Center. Diaper bags are exempt if the child is present.

Graduate Arrival Times: 7:30AM for Early College HS Students, 8:00AM for all others. 

Doors open at 9:00AM for families 

FAQs 

• Who can attend?
  • All Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 graduates. 
• Can I decorate my cap?
  • Yes, but it must be tasteful and non-offensive. Failure to comply will result in removal of the graduation cap (Early College High School students: please check with your high school counselor). 
• How many people can I invite?
  • Currently there is no limit on the number of guests you can invite. 
• Do I need tickets?
  • No, tickets are not required for entry. 
• How long is the ceremony?
  • Typically, the ceremony will last 2.5 to 3 hours.  Once the ceremony is over, graduates will be ushered out of the venue where they can meet their guests outside. 
• What should I bring?

  • Small, clear bag that can fit under regalia, no outside food or drink, no e-cigarettes or Vape Pens 

  • All participants and guests will pass through metal detector

Student Caps & Gowns

All students participating in the LSC-Kingwood Commencement ceremony must wear a black cap & gown. Caps & gowns may be purchased from any vendor including Herff Jones or borrowed from a previous graduate or family member. Contact KCGraduation@lonestar.edu for information about caps & gowns and if you are interested in donating your regalia after the ceremony. We're here to help you!

Mandatory Orientation Sessions

The Graduation department will be hosting a mandatory Graduation Orientation for graduates graduates in the SCC Conference Rooms 104, 106, 108, 109:

• Monday, April 13th at 6PM 

• Tuesday, April 14th at12:30PM 

• Friday, April 24th at 3PM 

Students are required to attend ONE session and will be provided with important information and guidelines including arrival times, ceremony length, caps & gowns, grad photos and much more.  

Early College High School graduates will have orientation sessions at their respective campuses.  

Livestream and Photographs

The 2026 LSC-Kingwood Commencement ceremony will be livestreamed. Information on how to access the livestream will be provided closer to the event. Flash Photography will be on hand to photograph graduates at the Commencement ceremony. Graduates will be able to purchase photos directly from Flash Photography. Questions? Diploma Mailing Information

• All commencement participants will receive a commemorative diploma cover at the ceremony.
• Graduates will receive their actual diploma via US mail to the diploma address listed on your student profile, after successful completion of degree requirements is confirmed.
• Diplomas are printed at our System Office and typically take 6-8 weeks for arrival.
• All holds must be cleared to receive a diploma and official Lone Star College transcript.
• Please check your student profile to verify a degree has been awarded before requesting an official transcript.

*REMINDER! Attending the Graduation Ceremony does not automatically mean that you have met all requirements to complete your degree and/or certificate program. Please check your student account or meet with an academic Advisor to ensure that you have met all the requirements for the completion of your degree plan/program.*  

Replacement Diplomas

Replacement diplomas requested one year after the posted graduation date will incur a $25 fee. To request a Diploma Reprint form and payment options, please contact our campus Graduation Specialists via email at kcgraduation@lonestar.edu.
