The HESI HP Admissions Exam is required to apply to the Medical Assisting program with Lone Star College. Testing is only offered during the program’s application period. Please visit the department’s website for current application dates.
Follow these steps to get started:
- Schedule an appointment to test on our North Harris Testing Center website.
- Wait for an email from the North Harris Testing Center with the payment instructions.
- Make your payment on the HESI ecommerce site (link will be provided via email along with instructions on creating your HESI Evolve account which will be needed on test day). Please make your payment before you arrive for your appointment.
Note: You must be a Lone Star College student to test at our center, we do not allow testing for other institutions.

Time Limit for the HESI HP Admissions Exam for Medical Assisting: 3 1/2 hours.

The HESI HP Admissions Exam is required to apply to the Medical Radiological Technology program with Lone Star College.
- Testing Opens: October 13, 2025
- Testing Format: In-person only, available at the North Harris Testing Center. You may also test at other Lone Star College Testing Centers. Appointments are required.
- Testing Window: You may only test once per year (October 13, 2025 – October 2, 2026). Your scores may be used to apply to both the CyFair and Montgomery programs.
- Re-testing: Not permitted until October of the following year.
- Dead Week: No testing will be offered October 5–9, 2026.

The HESI RN Admissions Exam is required to apply to the Nursing programs with Lone Star College. Testing is available in person only at the North Harris Testing Center, or any other LSC Testing Center that offers the HESI-RN. Appointments are required!
