About
The XR Lab (formerly the VR Lab) is a hands-on space for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR). We updated the name to reflect an expanded scope beyond VR—more tools, more experiences, same room. You may still see “VR Lab” on older flyers or links; that’s us (Room E251).
The goal is simple: learn by doing in immersive environments that make complex concepts click. Students, faculty, and staff use the lab for coursework, projects, and—when appropriate—games to unwind.
Who can use it?
-
Students:
• Come during posted Open Lab times.
• You can also request time when the lab isn’t booked for classes (first-come, scheduling-permitting). -
Faculty & Staff:
• Reserve the lab for classes, workshops, and demos. -
Clubs:
• May request reservation time for projects. -
Community:
• Public programs are not available right now. Future partnerships will be announced on the Lab Calendar.
The XR Lab is supported by a dedicated XR Technician (not OTS) for setup and basic troubleshooting during scheduled use.
