Our Mission
The LSC-Kingwood Coyote Den recruits, engages, and equips students with academic, personal, and professional skills needed to begin and complete a degree, certificate, or workforce pathway.
Coyote Den purposes:
- We are a student support center at LSC–Kingwood focused on student success, leadership development, and campus engagement.
- The LSC-Kingwood Coyote Den provides student support services, academic guidance, and educational programs designed to strengthen achievement, persistence, and campus involvement. The Coyote Den connects students to resources, skill-building opportunities, and leadership development experiences that support progress toward degrees, certificates, and workforce goals.
- Provide programming that supports students’ academic, socioeconomic, and cultural needs to strengthen success at LSC-Kingwood.
- Enrich the experience of students and the community by offering opportunities that promote student success and leadership development.
- Strengthen partnerships with local school districts, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to expand student support.
- Facilitate educational programming such as leadership institutes, financial literacy programs, youth support collaborations, leadership forums/symposiums, and student leadership development events
- Establish a comprehensive support program for first-year students, beginning primarily with students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
- We are collaborating diligently with campus resources/ departments and community partners to strengthen student support, expand engagement opportunities, and build a more connected and empowered campus community
