LSC-CyFair has been an integral part of the community since 2003, serving over 26,000 students. We provide a high-quality education that is both affordable and conveniently located. Classes are available in various formats and terms throughout the year to provide flexibility for our students. The semesters include: Spring (January), May Mini-mester (May), Summer (June and July), Fall (August), and Winter Mini-mester (December). Additionally, Next Start classes are offered, typically with shorter terms for added convenience, including 14-week, 12-week, and 8-week formats.

Programs of Study

LSC-CyFair offers credit classes for associate degrees and transfer to a university and certificate and course options.

Continuing Education consists of fast track certificates or courses to quickly train students for a high-demand job. Programs focus on the key technical and behavioral skills needed in the targeted occupation. Each certificate program includes either industry-recognized certification, State or National occupational accreditation. Many certificates can be completed in 6 months or less. Continuing Education also offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Highschool Equivalency Test Preparation (GED).

Class Formats

Classes are offered in a variety of formats, terms, and times throughout the year in order to provide the flexibility our students need. Semesters include Spring (January), May Mini-mester (May), Summer (June and July), Fall (August), and Winter Mini-mester (December). Next Start classes are also available that are typically shorter terms for convenience (14-week, 12-week, 8-week classes). Class time offerings include daytime, evening, hybrid, weekend, and online.

Face-to-Face: Meet your classmates and professors, typically twice a week, in-person on campus.
Hybrid: Meet your classmates and professors in-person once a week with the rest online.
Online Set Time: Meet your classmates and professors with a scheduled virtual meeting.
Online Your Time: Fully online at your own pace without assigned meeting times (be sure to check the deadlines!)

The Honors College

The Honors College at Lone Star College offers a wide range of opportunities for honors students - from incoming freshman wanting to graduate with an Honors AA or Honors AS degree, to high-achieving students seeking to graduate with Honors distinction, to students interested in earning individual honors course credit.

The Honors College is designed to meet the needs of high-achieving students seeking to improve their college transcripts and transferability with challenging coursework provided across a broad range of disciplines. Our courses will engage and challenge students inside and outside the classroom through small classes and close interaction with dedicated faculty. Opportunities to enrich the total college experience while at The Honors College include travel, off-campus educational and cultural events, service-learning opportunities, conferences and special seminars.
