Once students submit their poetry, short fiction pieces, and art for possible publication, the advisors remove all names of the authors and artists. The anonymous writing submissions and art submissions are then duplicated and distributed amongst the student staff and volunteer faculty judges for review, discussion, and final selection. They also choose the prize winners in each category. Afterward, both final selections and prize winners are published in the magazine.
All writing submissions selected for publication by the student staff are considered as entries in the LSC-Tomball Creative Arts Contest. These entries are submitted to a panel of judges. The first place winner in each category receives $300; second place, $200; and third place, $100. Additionally, the creator of the winning cover art piece receives $300. All winners receive special recognition in the magazine and are recognized at the Student Excellence Awards Ceremony in the spring.
