WHAT IS CLEP?The College–Level Examination Program (CLEP) subject exams may be accepted in place of a course based on the acceptable score by the Institution. CLEP subject exams are 90 minutes in length plus 30 minutes administration time. You may select a school to have your scores sent to at the time you take the test.
WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?
Call the Assessment Center to schedule a two hour appointment. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. Please contact the office for details. Complete Registration Form and bring with you to appointment.

LSCS students MUST obtain approval from the admissions office in order to receive credits. This is to insure you are taking the appropriate exam and to address questions concerning credit for the CLEP exam. You must complete a PLA (Prior Learning Assessment) before testing.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE CLEP?
Order the Official CLEP Study Guide or download subject study guides from the college board.com store website. Go to the CLEP Preparation website for study tips.
RECEIVING YOUR SCORE REPORT
Unofficial CLEP results are available at the end of the test. Official scores will be sent by the College Board to the institutions you indicate at the beginning of the test.
Official scores for LSCS students are mailed to the Admissions Office.
WHAT IS THE FEE?
The Testing Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Separate payments are needed for each CLEP exam:
1. Payable to CLEP: $80
2. Payable to LSC-North Harris, Business Office: $15
Other fees:
Payable to LSC-North Harris: $10 for a composition or literature exam optional essay. Please check with your school to see if an essay is required.
Payable to LSC-North Harris: $25 for Introductory Psychology exam. This exam requires an additional essay with department.
