Our training sessions are meant for ABE/ASE Teachers, ESOL Teachers, Adult Education Teacher Aides, Administrative Staff, and Administrators.
To register for a training session, fill out the Coastal Region GREAT Center Registration Form online. A registration form is required to attend any session provided by Coastal Region GREAT Center.
To pre-register for a training session, you must complete and submit a registration form to the Coastal Region GREAT Center staff. Once a session has been completed, registration forms will be submitted to Lone Star College-University Park, and participants will be registered for CEUs (Continuing Educations Units).
Yes. The Coastal Region GREAT Center supplies training materials based on the number of people pre-registered. By registering in advance, your name will be printed on the registration form, saving time at the training session. Also, you will not need to fill out a registration form online during the session.
Once you submit a registration form, you will see a pop-up window indicating your registration form was submitted.
If you must cancel your registration for a training session, we ask that you make every effort to let us know. You may do so by calling 281-290-2919 or emailing CoastalCF@lonestar.edu.
Training sessions are free to attend.
Visit our calendar at http://www-tcall.tamu.edu/projectgreat/coastal/calendar.htm.
If you would like additional details of a specific training session, please visit our course list at http://www-tcall.tamu.edu/projectgreat/coastal/coursetoc.htm.
Training sessions are added to the calendar when requested by a Professional Development (PD) Coordinator. Only PD Coordinators are able to request training sessions.
The Coastal Region GREAT Center will not give you credit for attending only a part of a session. Please note that you must stay the entire time of your registered sessions.
If a training session is cancelled, we will contact registered participants through email and phone call to inform them of the change. We will also update our calendar.
You should bring a writing utensil, paper to take notes, and an eagerness to learn! We will supply all other materials.
No, it does not mean you are not registered. The sign in sheet is created on the Thursday before a training session occurs. This means that individuals sending registration forms after Thursday will not appear on the sign in sheet. If you notice that your name is not on the sign in sheet but you submitted a registration form, fill in your name and other required information on a blank line.
Once you complete a training session through the Coastal Region GREAT Center, we will send documentation of your attendance to the institution for whom you work. The institution you work for will then be responsible for entering your professional development hours into TEAMS.
