Vision and Service:
The LSC-CyFair Tennis team is committed to every students academic excellence, community involvement, and support of the campuses core values: integrity; trust; dignity and respect. We undoubtedly support both recognizing and giving back to both the community and students that has given so much to us.
As a team, we have introduced and helped offer tennis to over 410 children, 15 Special Olympians, disabled tennis players, and over 90 college students in Tennis on Campus programs in the Houston area. We have run our Lone Star College-CyFair Tennis Tournament approximately 10 times since 2004, and over 700 students from the Tennis on Campus programs from over 10 different colleges and universities have participated in the tournament since 2004.
Underserved and needy populations are near and dear to our program, which is why most of our activities are geared towards students from:
- a Title I elementary school
- National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) program
- Special Olympics
- disabled individuals in wheelchairs
- elderly populations
- low income populations seeking assistance from Cypress Assistance Ministries
The LSC-CyFair Tennis team works closely with interested students that are currently enrolled in a credited Tennis course at LSC-CyFair in order to help them achieve service learning designation on their official transcripts.
