Visual Communication trains today's digital designers in the communication media of the future.  We provide students with skills needed for careers in commercial art and design, desktop publishing, multimedia development, web design, 3-D animation, video and post production.  The demand for these skills comes from a variety of industries including advertising, consumer products, education, entertainment, government, legal, manufacturing, medical, petroleum, publishing, transportation, and video production.  The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Visual Communication has five areas of specialization:             

   Graphic Design           Multimedia           Video and Post Production             Web Design            3D Animation

Both the graphic design and multimedia tracks have been recognized by the Texas Skills Standard Board as meeting industry-defined and industry-recognized skill standards.

Visual Communication will not only teach you the skills you need to use the latest industry software, but will develop your design and conceptual skills, and provide you opportunities to enhance your success through real world activities and events.

Career Oportunities:

Opportunities for graduates in Visual Communications are as diverse as the skills involved.  Future employers may include website development companies. publishing houses, design companies, printers and advertising agencies.
