Close up of network connections.

Lone Star College launches Microsoft IT Academy Program to help equip students with 21st century skills for success. The Microsoft IT Academy bridges the world of education and work. We are committed to providing our students with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills so they can pursue higher education, and secure jobs that contribute to the statewide economy and their communities.

Some students are recent high school graduates who want to turn their interest in computers into a career. Others already have careers in information technology but want to earn Microsoft certification or add to their current desktop, application or server skills by learning more about networking. There are also students who are turning unemployment into an opportunity to learn new skills to reenter the workforce. No matter what your background is, the Microsoft IT Academy is a great fit for anyone interested in information technology.

The computer networking specialization – Microsoft Associate of Applied Science degree is awarded for successful completion of the 60 semester credit hours required in the degree plan. A certificate is available which will provide an opportunity to acquire technical skills in two to three semesters.
