Continuing Education ESOL
What is Continuing Education (CE) ESOL - Adult Education and Literacy (AEL)?
ESOL classes focus on giving students the knowledge and skills that will enable them to use the English language in their daily lives, activities, and workplace. Lessons are competency-based and cover topics such as shopping, community services, school, health, and emergencies. Students will improve their English skills and feel confident when communicating with other English speakers. ESOL classes are designed for the true beginner up to the advanced student; including those who have very limited reading and writing ability.
The CE - Adult Education and Literacy Program at Lone Star College provides pathways for adults to earn their GED and improve their English language. Other programs offered in the AEL program include English Literacy and Civics, and Workforce Education and Training Certificates in Allied Health, Business and Trade Careers.
Courses in the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program are available at no cost to the student, but are based on eligibility. Classes are available at several locations within the Lone Star College and at other offsite locations. Course offerings are based on demand and the space is limited.
