Visual Communication

Visual Communication trains today’s digital designers in the communication media of the future. We provide students with skills needed for careers in commercial art and design, desktop publishing, multimedia development, web design, 3-D animation, video and post-production. The demand for these skills comes from a variety of industries including advertising, consumer products, education, entertainment, government, legal, manufacturing, medical, petroleum, publishing, transportation, and video production. The Visual Communication Department offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree and six certificates specializing in the fields of Visual Communication.

Visual Communication allows you to specialize in graphic design, multimedia, video and post production, and take courses in web design and 3d animation. Visual Communication will not only teach you the skills you need to use the latest industry software, but will develop your design and conceptual skills, and provide you opportunities to enhance your success through real world activities and events such as our Non-Profit Design-a-Thon, Visual Communication Student Art Show, It’s-a-Wrap Media Fest, and mock portfolio shows. Or, near completion of your degree, you may choose to do an internship at Lone Star College-Kingwoods in-house graphics, Designs in Print.
