This program explores the theory of geologic processes including a study of physical forces that shape the Earth and all its landforms. Special emphasis is given to the origins of minerals and rocks, volcanoes, earthquakes, structures, plate tectonics and other geologic processes. Lab exercises include mineral identification and differentiation of the major rock types, use of topographic maps and aerial photographs and interpretation of geologic data.
