EDUC 1300 is placed as an institutional requirement, but is not part of the Nursing curriculum degree plan. When students enter the college, they are to complete EDUC 1300 as part of the entering declared major. After students are accepted to the associate degree nursing program, student degree plans are changed to AAS_ADNB.
The Lone Star College-CyFair Associate Degree Nursing Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The program received its initial accreditation in 2005. The last accreditation visit was in October, 2018 with continuing accreditation granted to Fall, 2026.
The Accreditation Commission For Education in Nursing may be contacted at:
Final acceptance into the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program or the Vocational Nursing program is contingent upon a satisfactory background check & drug screening (as required by clinical facilities), which will be completed by an approved agency at the student’s expense.
For students considering applying for a nursing program who may have a criminal background, please be advised that these background issues could keep you from being licensed by the State of Texas. If you have a question about your background and licensure, please contact the Texas Board of Nursing at http://www.bne.state.tx.us. You also have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from this licensing agency.
