About Us

The mission of the Faculty Resource Center is to provide resources to inspire, sustain, and enrich the professional growth of all faculty.

There are three locations for faculty to access the Faculty Resource Center:

  • Faculty Resource Center (F203) | The physical space for the FRC is located on the second floor of Building F in Room 203 of the LSC-Montgomery campus. Faculty can visit for workshops, participate in open labs, discuss books on professional development topics, converse with faculty in roundtable discussions, participate in panels, and take part in other fellowship opportunities.
  • FRC Website | The FRC Website offers information about hours of operation, contact information, and a calendar of events.
  • Online FRC Resource Guide | The Resource Guide supports faculty teaching and learning by helping to supplement face-to-face and online resources. The Guide also includes a searchable repository of resources that supports professional development; provides descriptions and registration links to real-time webinars and on-demand trainings; includes videos created by and for faculty professional development.

Faculty have the option to share, inspire, and collaborate in many different ways, all considering the four Faculty Qualities of Excellence: Student Invested, Content Expert, Pedagogically Excellent, and Institutionally Dedicated. Some of the ways the FRC offers enriching professional growth include:

  • In-person and online workshops that support teaching and learning
  • New Faculty Orientation
  • Roundtables
  • Book discussions
  • On-demand professional development learning modules
  • Articles that support in-person and online pedagogy, classroom communication, teaching tips, and more
  • Links to other resources that support professional development

All new faculty are connected with a mentor to provide guidance and support in the first year of service at LSC-Montgomery. Whenever possible, full-time faculty are connected with a colleague in the same discipline. The Department Chair serves as the mentor to all adjunct faculty in their respective department(s). The Faculty Resource Center supports the mentorship program by organizing events for mentors and mentees throughout the academic year. Learn More
