What is Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion?
Diversity – Individual and group/social differences (e.g. personality, learning styles, life experiences, race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, and ability, as well as cultural, political, religious, or other affiliations).
Inclusion – Fostering an environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully; are valued for their distinctive skills, experiences, and perspectives; have equal access to resources and opportunities; and can contribute fully to the organization’s success.
Equity – Grounded in the principles of fairness; takes diversity and inclusion into account to establish practices and create opportunities to ensure a fair process and, ultimately, a fair outcome.
