Our focus includes training for your entry level administration staff to vital training for floor-hands/roustabouts with hands-on training at our Lone Star College rig. Basic Principles of Oil & Gas for Industry
This course is designed to introduce administrative staff to the language and processes of the oil & gas industry. Various aspects of petroleum processes such as gas production, petrochemical, refining, and operations will be discussed for a complete understanding of the industry.
Work Skills for the Workplace
Develop skills in professionalism, interpersonal skills, communication, workplace and civility. This course may also be designed on an advanced level as needed for employees.
Basic Mechanical Skills
Basic mechanical skills using hand and power tools in an industrial environment. Topics include tool use and maintenance, lubrication, measuring, threads and fasteners, bench works, basic mechanical drawings, and basic shop calculations (English and metric). Also addresses rigging procedures to include chain falls, jacks, cable, fulcrum, port-a-power, and come-alongs.
Drilling/Rig Floor Core Skills
A study of practices and procedures specific to drilling operations. Rig equipment, casing design, fishing, and proper procedures to successfully drill a well are discussed. Hands-on training focused on Lone Star College rig.
A combined program of seven advanced oil & gas upstream practices in a hands-on rig from health and safety lessons to core skills in drilling.
IADC’s RigPass® program (including SafeLand and SafeGulf endorsements) is an accreditation system delivering a standardized safety orientation program for new employees, preparing the employees for almost any operating environment, at almost any site, onshore of offshore. Completing this course confirms that personnel have met basic requirements defined by safety and training professionals in the drilling industry, irrespective of the rig’s location.
A new revolutionary well control training and assessment program. The result of a collaborative industry effort, the new WellSharp program emphasizes rigorous training for every person with well control responsibilities, whether office- or rig-based. Trainees gain more in-depth knowledge, well-honed role-specific skills, and a greater confidence that they know what to do to prevent incidents or, in the unforeseen event of a well control incident, respond swiftly and appropriately.
Introduction to Industrial Maintenance
Basic mechanical skills and repair techniques common to most fields of industrial maintenance. Topics include precision measuring instruments and general safety rules common in industry, including lock-out/tag-out.
Introduction to Oil & Gas
This training includes more than an introduction to the industry, but prepares the trainee to enhance their knowledge and skills by working through topics in petroleum geology, uses for oil & gas, development and advanced safety, health and environment.
