Associate of Arts Degree in Teaching (AAT)

satisfies the lower division (i.e. freshman and sophomore level) requirements for a bachelor's degree leading to initial Texas teacher certification.
qualifies one to become a professional teacher's aide.

To become a classroom teacher, the degree recipient must then complete a bachelor's degree leading to Texas teacher certification. View the AAT video.

Teacher Certification Program (TCP)

With an earned Bachelor's degree, and a reasonable investment of time and funds, the Teacher Certification Program (TCP) provides the opportunity to become a certified Teacher in Texas.

The Teacher Certification Program at Lone Star College-Kingwood is the largest community college teacher certification program in the state of Texas. We have certified over 1100 teachers in just over 5 years that our program has provided services to the community.
