LSC-North Harris English Department

English courses at Lone Star College-North Harris are divided into three groups-traditional courses that are college-level and that transfer to four-year colleges and universities, developmental courses that help students overcome reading and writing deficiencies to make them ready for the traditional college-level courses, and English for Speakers of Other Languages(ESOL) courses for those learning to speak and write English. This site contains information on College-Level English.

The English Department offers a range of college level English courses, including Composition and Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Surveys of British, American, and World Literature, and Forms of Literature-courses specializing in selected genres such as Women Writers, African-American Literature, and Literature & Film. You may be able to test out of some of our first-year English classes if you've had prior learning in the subject.
