Submission Procedure
To submit to the Inkling, download the appropriate submission form, and fill it out thoroughly.List the titles of your submissions in the space provided on the form. Follow the directions for format on the form.
Drop off the submission form and your submissions at one of the following locations:
- Dr. Greg Oaks: Office E-152, LSC-Tomball campus
- Amy Hirsch: Office C-223, LSC-Tomball campus
You may also drop off submissions in any of the mailboxes for the above Inkling advisors.
Mailboxes are located in S-150, on the first floor of the south hallway of the LSC-Tomball campus.
You can also drop off your submissions in the black box located in the hallway that connects the main building to the library on the second floor of the LSC-Tomball campus. The box is on a stand not far from the Assessment Center.
On the LSC-University Park campus, you can drop off your submissions with the submission form with anyone at the front desk. Indicate that you are dropping off an Inkling submission.
Pieces accepted by the Inkling for publication are then entered in a contest in one of three categories:
- Poetry: First place $100.00, Second place $75.00, Third place $50.00
- Prose: First place $100.00, Second place $75.00, Third place $50.00
- Cover Art: An artist whose piece is chosen for the cover receives $100.00
- Art and Photography: First place $100.00, Second place $75.00, Third place $50.00
Once all submissions are collected, the authors names are removed and the anonymous poetry and prose submissions, as well as art and photography, are judged by the Inkling student staff and faculty advisors.
The cover art is chosen by the Inkling staff members.
It is important for you to note the deadline on the submission form. The deadline for the 2011 issue is November 8, 2010. See the link for the current submission form below.
