For Spring 2024
Thank you for your interest in entering the LSC-Montgomery Student Art Show. You must be a current Lone Star College-Montgomery student to enter. Work submitted must have been made within the last 2 calendar years, be created by the student submitting, and not shown in the gallery before.
Important Dates & Times:
- Submission Deadline: April 12 by 11:59 pm
- Artwork Dropoff in gallery for Accepted work: April 22, 10am-12pm & April 23, 10am-12pm (or with instructor)
- Reception & Award Announcements: May 1 at 1pm
- Artwork Pickup: May 6-7 from 10am-4pm
Submission process:
For your best chance of getting in the show, please discuss with your professor what you are planning to enter.
Step 1: Combine up to 3 cropped and edited images into 1 PDF file that is no larger than 10MB labeled "Firstname_Lastname_StudentIDnumber_Semester_Year".
Step 2: Fill out this downloadable word doc and re-label "Firstname_Lastname_info_Semester_Year".
Step 3: Attach and send both files to marymattesonparrishLSCMgallery@gmail.com before the deadline above.
Step 4: Check your e-mail daily after the deadline to be notified if your work(s) are accepted.
If Selected:
All 2D work must be hang-ready for display. 2D Work that is not hang-ready will not be placed in the gallery. This means: Paintings on canvas must have a hang-wire on the back. Works on paper must be framed with a hang-wire or D-rings (saw tooth ‘hangers’ do not work and may be excluded from the exhibit). 3-D works should have felts on the base. If you aren't sure if your work is hang-ready, please ask your professor for help.
Drop off deadline for accepted work is April 22 or April 23 from 10am-12pm. Bring your work to the campus gallery (D-Building Art Gallery 1st floor to the side of the Mainstage Theatre or across from the ceramics room).
It's an in-person exhibition, but if selected, you're allowing us the use of your image(s) in social media and/or the LSC-Montgomery website for example.
Student Art Show
The Student Art Show will be open from April 29-May 2, 10am-4pm.
Reception:
May 1 at 1pm. There will also be scholarship and purchase awards.
Pick Up:
May 6-7 from 10am-4pm.
*Artwork not picked up by the end of the semester of the exhibition may be discarded.*
