About lifePATH®

A post-secondary educational program for neurodivergent students. lifePATH's focus is to assist students as they: develop independence, exercise self-determination, increase knowledge of college-level academic expectations, practice the social expectations necessary for success in the adult world, and engage in opportunities for career exploration.

Program Options

Occupational & Life Skills Associates Degree - The Occupational and Life Skills is a four-year associate degree program developed for neurodiverse students in the lifePATH® program utilizing a cohort model. Students pursuing the OLSA take courses designed to enhance their academic, career, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills. While the OLSA does not focus on a specific industry, its purpose is to help students develop transferable skills that can be applied to any industry. OLSA Degree Criteria

Foundations Continuing Education Program - lifePATH® foundations is a two-year non-credit program offering select foundational classes similar to those offered in the OLSA degree. This program serves two purposes: 1.) Students have the opportunity to adjust to the college environment and lifePATH expectations. Each Spring Semester, lifePATH Foundations students are given the OLSA Admissions Assessment in Reading, Writing, and Math. If two of the 3 assessments are passed at 70% or above, the Foundations student is offered the opportunity to move to the OLSA program the following Fall Semester. Not all lifePATH Foundations students pass the OLSA  Admissions Assessments but all are provided with the opportunity to learn academic strategies; grow and practice social skills; and explore and develop durable career skills. 2.) Practicing academics, social skills, and durable career skills in a professional environment helps students prepare for entry level jobs in a customer service type industry. lifePATH® Foundations courses are taken through the Lone Star College Continuing Education Department. Students will not receive credit for these courses but will receive a certificate of completion. Foundations Criteria

What People are Saying

Parent Testimonial

"Dear lifePATH Team,
It has taken me a few days to gather my words after last week. I cannot not adequately express how grateful I am to each and every one of you. It is a scary thing when doctors and psychologists give your child a diagnosis at a young age and tell you as a parent that they probably won’t do a laundry list of things. You cry at first, then you look at your child and see that nothing has changed they are still your baby that you love with all your heart and would stand in front of a train for. So you start to learn all the things to try and help them. You learn all the acronyms, ARD, 504, IEP, and you deal with looks and the frustration. I never really thought that [our son] would find peace outside of animals until we found lifePath. [This] is the best program we have ever put our son [in]. He truly enjoys it and he has thrived. It was all I could do not to cry happy tears as he made his speech over and over to all the guests last week. He was so confident and comfortable in his own skin. Thank you! We were never worried about his academic performance, but you all have helped him so much with social skills and self esteem, and the growth he has shown in the two years is tremendous. I am so grateful and know he will succeed.
Signed, One Grateful Mom."
