For our Occupational & Life Skills Associates degree plan, it will vary each semester and the tuition will be charged the same as any other courses in the college. You can see each class in our degree plan by going to this web page: Occupational and Life Skills Associate Program (Workforce). You can check for tuition rates by going to this web page: Tuition and Fees.
Tuition for lifePATH Foundations students is different, as it is part of our Continuing Education program. Students will be charged by contact hour. This past August, the Lone Star College Board of Trustees voted to reduce the tuition for lifePATH Foundations to $8 per contact hour. Each semester will have varying amounts of contact hours. Note: lifePATH Foundations is only currently offered at the LSC-Tomball campus.
For OLSA, a total of approximately 30 students will be admitted each year; which consists of two cohorts of 15 students. Students stay with the same cohort of students the entire time they are with lifePATH.
For lifePATH Foundations, we will accept a total of 15-20 students. They will be in 2 groups of 5-10 students per cohort.
No, we do not offer housing or transportation. Students will need to have a ride of their own to and from the college. Some of our students drive independently. While others get rides from their guardians or privately plan their own travel arrangements through a combination of city buses and driver/ride services.
Students in the LSC-Tomball lifePATH program have in-person classes on campus twice a week, either on Mondays and Wednesdays or on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Similarly, students in the LSC-Montgomery lifePATH program meet on campus twice a week for their in-person classes, on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, and they also have Friday classes.
No, we do not offer behavioral supports beyond those extended to all LSC students. Any Lone Star College student can be referred to or make their own appointment to visit with a campus counselor.
We do not offer aids to students and do not supervise students before or after classes. Students are adults and are responsible for themselves while at the college.
Our internship program provides students with an immersive experience in their desired field, which can potentially lead to job offers. Although we cannot guarantee post-graduation placement, our program equips interns with valuable skills and connections that enhance their chances of securing employment.
lifePATH does not provide job placement services, but we do actively refer our students to utilize our campus career services.
We do not permit part-time admission to lifePATH. Students are required to register for all courses assigned to their cohort each semester, unless they need to retake a prerequisite course. If a student cannot take all cohort designated courses in which they qualify, they cannot register for any lifePATH courses. If a student wants to drop courses during the semester, they must drop all lifePATH courses.
