Background Checks

Background checks will be required of ALL students. If you have accepted the offer of admission, you gave us authorization to release your social security number to the Texas Board of Nursing so that they can run a background check on you. If you have offenses on your record you will need to contact the Texas Board of Nursing at http://www.bon.state.tx.us/ to review their licensing policies. Your status will be reported to us by the Texas Board of Nursing. If we have a concern, you will be contacted. If you have not received BON approval to take the licensing exam and your background check shows an offense, your conditional acceptance will be revoked.

If you have not been issued a social security number, you will not be able to work in this country and therefore you should apply for a SSN as soon as possible.
