Student With College Transcript(s) Outside of Lone Star College

Do I Need to Apply?

  • Students who have applied to another college will still need to complete an ApplyTexas application for Lone Star College. Apply at Lonestar.edu/ApplyTexas
  • Anyone who previously attended Lone Star College but did not take classes at Lone Star in the past two years will need to reapply. Email CF-Admissions@lonestar.edu from your Lone Star student email address and we can check if you need to reapply! If you cannot access your student email, you likely need to reapply. 

Finish Your Application

  • After completing the Core Questions section of your application, you can use the School Search function. Pick your starting semester and choose Undergraduate (2 year) as your application type before searching Lone Star College System.
  • You can check if your application is completely finished in the Dashboard section of ApplyTexas.
  • Check your email within 24-48 hours for important information

Registration Requirements

  • You can only register once your application has been processed and you have received your Lone Star student ID number. 
  • Most students with previous college experience meet the requirements for the classes they want to take. Your student account just doesn't know it yet because we won't have your official transcripts evaluated until a couple weeks after you submit them.
  • Submit a previous credit registration form here so we can enroll you before your transcripts are evaluated! Students who only have college transcripts from outside the state of Texas will be unable to use the previous credit registration form and need to submit their official transcripts before registering.

Previous Credit Registration Form

  • There is a place on the form for your unofficial transcripts, the classes you are requesting, and a completed transcript waiver. This form is sent to advising for approval, after which you are enrolled directly by admissions and records. 
  • A registration guide can be used to find the course information required on the form.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from Cf-Registration@LoneStar.edu once you have been successfully enrolled.

Am I Eligible to Take This Class?

  • Our advising office will send you a request denied email if you do not meet the requirements to enroll in your requested classes.
  • Eligibility is decided by the advising office based on your unofficial college transcripts. Transcripts from outside the state of Texas will need to be submitted for evaluation before eligibility can be confirmed.

What are my Holds

  • View holds in your my.LoneStar.edu student account
  • See instructions on removing holds: LoneStar.edu/CF-Holds
  • Previous credit registration forms usually take a few days for processing. This is the perfect time to clear your holds while you wait.

Do I Have to Complete All Holds?

  • Some holds such as TSI, New Student Orientation, High School/College Transcript and Bacterial Meningitis do not necessarily need to be cleared if you submitted a previous credit registration form. You will receive an email from CF-Registration@LoneStar.edu to your Lone Star student email if actions are required before we enroll you.
  • Not all holds are bad! For example, the S01 - International hold only means the student is not a USA Citizen or a USA resident. No action is required.
  • You will need to clear all negative holds before registering if the advising office denies your previous credit registration form. Students should email CF-Admissions@lonestar.edu or visit their nearest Lone Star campus student services if they have any questions about their holds.

  • The transcript waiver provided with the previous credit registration form will only allow you to register for your first semester without all official college transcripts on file. Before subsequent terms can be registered for, all official transcripts must have been received.
  • Most information you need to submit your official college transcripts can be found on our website here under "Sending Official Transcripts to LSC".
  • International Transcripts from outside the U.S. will need to go through an evaluation organization approved by LSC. Our list of organizations we accept from as well as additional instructions can be found on our website here.
  • Your unofficial transcript is only useful on the previous credit registration form. Any transcripts sent to us by the student are considered unofficial.

  • Pay Online: Log in to my.LoneStar.edu > Student tile > Financial Account
  • Pay in Person: CASA Building Payment Center
    Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8 am - 7 pm; Friday: 8 am - 4:30 pm
  • View payment deadlines: LoneStar.edu/Payment
  • Note: Classes may be dropped if the payment deadline is not met
