Cost of Attendance & Payment Methods for International Students
International students should be prepared to pay all expenses, both educational and living. Unfortunately, financial aid is not available to international students. Information about tuition and fees and payment due dates is available online. See the Payment Methods section below for information on paying tuition and fees.
2019-2020 Cost of Attendance Estimates
To be considered for admission on an F-1 visa, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are able to pay their educational and living expenses for at least one academic year (9 months) if starting in the Fall or Spring and 12 months if starting in Summer. At minimum, applicants must show they have the total amount listed below available to them.

*Based on 12 credits per Fall and Spring semester and 9 months of estimated living expenses for the student. If beginning in the summer or spending the summer in the Houston area, include an additional $3,316 for estimated living expenses. If beginning or enrolling in the summer, add an additional $3,915 for tuition (12 credits), books, and insurance.
If dependents will accompany you: Add $3,316 per dependent per academic year if starting your studies in fall or spring. If starting in the summer or spending the summer in the Houston area, add $4,421 per dependent. This does not include the cost of optional dependent health insurance.
**Health insurance must be purchased through the LSC-approved provider if not approved for a waiver. Waiver must meet specific criteria. See the International Student Insurance page for more information.
***Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice. Fees may vary depending on actual class and program requirements. The tuition and fees estimated here do not include differential or lab fees which may be assessed depending on the course. The average differential fee is $8 per credit hour. Lab fees vary by course. It also does not include a $10.50 processing fee for proof of Meningitis vaccination or medical/conscientious exemption. Only students who meet certain criteria are subject to this requirement. See the Meningitis page for more information. Does not include placement testing fees. The amount ranges between $8-$30 depending on the test and the number of sections required. Please see the Business Office website for further clarification on additional fees.

Current students can pay on-line via myLoneStar. You can also pay at the business office window with cash, U.S. checks, or U.S.-based credit or debit cards. Change of Status Applicants:
Change-of-Status applications are processed only for one semester at a time based on specific eligibility criteria.The campus ISA/DSO must receive your application on or before:
July 1 (For program start date in August)
November 1 (For program start date in January)
Any applications received after the deadline will be deferred to the next semester.
