The Office of Strategic Initiatives houses the Center for Organizational and Teaching Excellence (COTE), College Relations, Multimedia Services, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Center for Leadership, Academic, and Student Success (Title V Grant), Institutional Effectiveness, Strategic Planning, Research, and Grants.
The mission of OSI is to generate, evaluate and implement strategic initiatives that create sustainable long-term improvements for LSC-Tomball.
Meet the Chief Strategist
Dr. Jackie C. Thomas Jr. currently serves as the Chief Strategist at Lone Star College-Tomball. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing senior-level leadership to the Office of Strategic Initiatives. Prior to serving as Chief Strategist, he spent a year and a half as Assistant Dean and three years as a full-time faculty member at LSC-Tomball.
Dr. Thomas has 15 years of experience working in higher education. He has experience working in Student Services and Instruction. In his spare time, Jackie teaches in the Masters in Higher Education Program at the University of Houston. He also serves as a Lead Facilitator for the LeaderShape Institute. He received his Bachelors of Science in Consumer Science and Merchandising from the University of Houston, his Masters of Science in Higher Education from Florida State University, and his Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Psychology and Individual Differences from the University of Houston.
