Financial Aid Tips!
Make sure you fill out the correct FAFSA!
Some students fill out the FAFSA, but its for the next year. Ex: The FAFSA states the year on which application students are applying for, 2020-2021 FAFSA application or 2021-2022 FAFSA application.
The 20-21 FAFSA covers Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021.
The 21-22 FAFSA application covers Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Summer 2022.
Want to make sure you are filling out the current form? Students can verify this by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243, or refer to their FAFSA confirmation email received by the U.S. Department of Education.
Don't forget to add your Social Security number to your FAFSA!
A social doesnt mean a work permit: A work authorization SSN does not qualify the student to be eligible to apply for FAFSA. Students with work authorization only SSN are eligible to apply for TASFA.
Students who are eligible to apply for FAFSA are, U.S. Citizen or national; a citizen of the Freely Associated States: the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republics of Palau and the Marshall Islands and a U.S. permanent resident or other eligible noncitizen.
