We have been working to provide wraparound services during this challenging time. While we do not have resources to help every student, we can provide some assistance to students as needed. We can continue to help students with hot meals, emergency aid, and technology.

New Student Orientation
Plan ahead! Know what department(s) you'd like or need to speak to. What to bring? Current students just need LSC ID. New students need a form of identification.
One Entrance will be open at each location. A greeter will welcome you, your temperature will be scanned, and PPE will be available if needed. All visitors must meet city, County, and CDC guidelines while visiting any LSC location.

Students using GI Bill benefits and Tuition Assistance (TA) must meet with their Education Service Officer (ESO) and Campus Veteran Liaison prior to enrolling in classes to ensure eligibility requirements.
Financial aid helps students and their families pay for college. This financial assistance covers educational expenses including tuition, fees, books, and supplies. There are several types of financial aid that may be combined into your financial aid package.
Lone Star College maintains the contents of student financial aid records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Please find additional information on privacy and FERPA in these links.
Steps to Submitting a FAFSA for Spring 2021
Applying for financial aid is as easy as 1,2,3!
Submit the 20-21 FAFSA Application at www.fafsa.gov. Students can verify if they completed the correct FAFSA by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243 or refer to their FAFSA confirmation email received by the U.S. Department of Education.
The 2021-2022 FAFSA is now available! Apply early for next year by visiting the Federal Student Aid site to fill out the 21/22 form.
List Lone Star Colleges school code on the FAFSA application: 011145.

Make sure you fill out the correct FAFSA!
Some students fill out the FAFSA, but its for the next year. Ex: The FAFSA states the year on which application students are applying for, 2020-2021 FAFSA application or 2021-2022 FAFSA application.
The 20-21 FAFSA covers Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021.
The 21-22 FAFSA application covers Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Summer 2022.
Want to make sure you are filling out the current form? Students can verify this by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243, or refer to their FAFSA confirmation email received by the U.S. Department of Education.
Don't forget to add your Social Security number to your FAFSA!
A social doesnt mean a work permit: A work authorization SSN does not qualify the student to be eligible to apply for FAFSA. Students with work authorization only SSN are eligible to apply for TASFA.
Students who are eligible to apply for FAFSA are, U.S. Citizen or national; a citizen of the Freely Associated States: the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republics of Palau and the Marshall Islands and a U.S. permanent resident or other eligible noncitizen.
At LSC-Houston North, we put students first. We believe that all students have the potential to succeed if given access and support. All first time in college students enrolled in EDUC 1300 at Lone Star College-Houston North will be assigned a Mentor.
Communities In Schools are a nationwide network of passionate professionals working in public schools to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Communities in Schools (CIS) is dedicated to serving students and is adjusting to the current circumstances in our community. We continue to provide services and are currently responding to students through email and phone communication. My current CIS phone number is 281-545-7562. CIS will respond to communication during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Through the Faculty Senate Textbook Emergency Fund, LSC-Foundation, LSC-HN Faculty Senate, and Communities in Schools (CIS) are working together to help students obtain their textbooks for Spring '21 8W1.
This emergency fund provides a $75.00 one-time textbook scholarship to students enrolled at LSC-HN who do not receive financial aid or other types of assistance.
Interested students need to contact with their locations CIS Program Manager below for information on future opportunities.
Disability Services (DS) assists current and future students by determining and recommending appropriate academic support services. We also focus on helping students with disabilities make a successful transition to the college and act as a referral source for services both on campus and within the community.
Lone Star College Testing Centers provide a variety of testing services to students including, but not limited to Placement Exams, Make-up Exams/LSC-Online Exams, Correspondence Exams, Challenge exams Foreign Language Exams and Exams for students approved for ADA Accommodations.
LSC-Houston North Library Services offer free online tutoring services for all students enrolled at Lone Star College. All students currently have 90 min of online tutoring with Brainfuse for the rest of the semester and access to Tutor Match which utilizes the campus tutors. In addition, students can schedule one on one WebEx Tutor Sessions.
Option 2: WebEx Tutoring Session- Student can choose to schedule an appointment with an LSC-Houston North tutor using WebEx Video Communication System. A WebEx tutoring session will be very similar to a face-to-face session, except the session is conducted through WebEx. Tutoring Services include:

Do you know anyone who wants to learn English?
Our ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) program at our Fairbanks location prepares students to successfully speak and write English for college or work. We offer courses in reading, writing, oral communication, and grammar.
