“Tu Camino” Scholarships Awarded in Surprise Ceremony
Kenia Mojarro Mejia dreamed of being the first in her family to go to college – and now she has a $15,000 scholarship to help her reach that goal. Kenia Mojarro Mejia was one of three people awarded the “Tu Camino” scholarship earlier this month during a surprise ceremony on the LSC-University Park campus.
LSC-Kingwood Students Represent in National Respiratory Care Competition
Lone Star College-Kingwood is proving it offers a top-notch Respiratory Care program. Students from The Respiratory Care Club competed in the Sputum Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee, last month.
LSC-Kingwood Graphic Design Students Take Top Awards at Conference
Congratulations to Lone Star College-Kingwood Graphic Design-Visual Communications students for taking top awards at the 2023 AAF Conference. For the second year in a row, students from Kingwood were members of the first, second and third place teams.
“H20&U” a Magical Merging of Art and Science
If you never considered water to be art, students at Lone Star College-Kingwood are showing that it can, in fact, be an impactful and interactive art form. Currently on display in the Fine Art Gallery, the exhibit, “H2O&U,” is a collaborative project between art and environmental science students.

College President
Dr. Melissa N. Gonzalez is the newly appointed President at Lone Star College-Kingwood. She was formerly the President of Houston Community College-Southeast from 2017-2021. Before HCC, Dr. Gonzalez served in numerous leadership roles at Lone Star College, Dean at LSC-North Harris, Special Assistant to the President, Interim Vice President and Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development.
