Lone Star College–University Park’s student-run literary arts magazine earned national recognition as a REALM First Class recipient in the National Council of Teachers of English’s 2025 Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines program.

College President
Matthew Dempsey, Ed.D., was named President of Lone Star College-University Park in December 2024. He had previously served as the campus’ interim president since June 2023. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Dempsey is a committed and innovative leader dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve their academic goals. Prior to his role at LSC-University Park, he served as vice president of instruction at Lone Star College-CyFair where he played a key role in enhancing instructional programs and fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, Dr. Dempsey held various positions during his 22-year tenure at Dallas College, including dean of academic affairs and executive dean.
