For one Lone Star College-Kingwood employee, graduation day was twice as meaningful as he and his son earned their degrees together. For several years, Miguel Avalos has worked as a maintenance technician at Lone Star College-Kingwood. He never imagined he would one day become a student again.

Pomp and Circumstance marked the celebration of student success during the Lone Star College-Montgomery 2026 Graduation Ceremony. More than 2,150 degrees and certifications were awarded, with nearly 600 participants in the college’s largest commencement ceremony.

The donation includes $211,000 in grant funding to purchase new equipment and technology for LSC-Kingwood’s Respiratory Care and Polysomnographic Technology programs, as well as additional funding to cover student scholarships.

The LSCS Board of Trustees will hold a regular board meeting on June 4 at LSC-University Park, Commons Grand Hall.
